Sennsis offer a complete range of DDA compliant portable infrared hearing loop systems.

Portable infrared hearing systems are a cost effective and easy to use alternative to perimeter induction loop systems. They have the advantage of no trailing wires around the area to be covered and can be set up in minutes. They are also ideal for meetings of a confidential nature* as the infrared light cannot penetrate the walls of the room .

Each Sennsis portable infrared hearing system comprises of a boundary microphone, infrared radiator stack on a table stand, and a preamplifier (shown below). The preamplifier has all the connections that are ever likely to be needed and an (optional) integrated radio microphone receiver.

The microphone inputs into the system are:

Boundary microphone

This sensitive microphone plugs directly into the preamplifier and is ideal for picking up the proceedings of a meeting around a table.

Radio microphone (optional)

Radio microphones are available in two types– a lapel microphone or a handheld microphone. Both microphones are wireless allowing the main speaker the freedom to move around the room without any trailing wires.

The microphone inputs are then transmitted by the radiators around the room in the form of infrared (invisible) light. As this light cannot penetrate walls this provides complete confidentiality*.

Receivers are used to convert the infrared signal back to audio. Receivers are available in two types;

Neck worn induction loop receivers for use by hearing aid wearers (with their hearing aid switched to the "T" telecoil position)

Stethoset receiver

Receivers are lightweight, easy to use and comfortable to wear. They are recharged in ten-way battery chargers.

Sennsis portable infrared hearing systems are ideal for meeting rooms, classrooms, court rooms and many other environments. Systems are available to cover areas from 80 sqM to 400 sqM and are built to suit each customer’s specific needs and budget. A basic system includes:

1 x SENNSIS portable infrared hearing system, power supply unit, telescopic table stand, boundary microphone, infrared receivers and charger.

The Sennsis preamplifier has the following facilities:

A Slave output for connecting a “Booster” extension radiator

B DC input for connecting mains power supply

C Line output for connecting to the input of an external device e.g. a digital recorder

D Line input for connecting to the output of an external device e.g. a sound system or television

E Microphone input

F Integrated radio microphone receiver (optional)

*System is secure when used with either the wired microphone or the digital microphone option only

A protective storage case with retractable handle and wheels (to enable it to be towed like a suitcase) is available for the system. The case can hold a complete 20 receiver system and yet weighs less than 12 kg!
