Lampeter Evangelical Church choose Tourtalk TT 21 to provide simultaneous interpretation from Welsh to English during their services.
The church conducts some services in the Welsh language. As some of the congregation do not speak Welsh, a simultaneous interpretation system is required to ensure everybody can hear the preacher’s message.
The service is provided by volunteers. The interpreter is issued with a compact transmitter and a headband microphone enabling them to remain hands-free and giving them the freedom to sit anywhere within the room. The interpreter listens to the preacher in Welsh and whispers the translated message into English.
The members of the congregation that require the interpretation are each issued with a cable-free single earphone to hear the message. Each user can adjust their personal volume to a comfortable level without disturbing people in the vicinity, enabling them to sit with family and friends.
At Lampeter Evangelical Church we had been looking to find a permanent solution to our translation needs after leasing older obsolete Sennheiser equipment for many years.
